|Approval of non-medicinal veterinary products - general information|

The veterinary non-medicinal products are regulated in the Czech Republic and should be approved by the Institute for State Control of the Veterinary Biologicals and Medicines (ÚSKVBL) before marketing.
The veterinary non-medicinal products are regulated and defined in the Act No 166/1999 Coll. on Veterinary care as amended and Regulation No 159/2021 Coll. On Veterinary non-medicinal products and veterinary technical devices. Section 3, Basic terms, it is stated that veterinary products are products intended for use for animals, particularly dietetics, vitamins, minerals and cosmetics products or for specific laboratory diagnostics, which do not fall under special laws e.g. Act No 378/2007 Coll. as amended, on veterinary medicinal product or Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on biocides or Regulation No 767/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on feed.
The Decision on approval is valid for 5 years, then the Holder can apply for renewal otherwise the product will be deleted from the register of the approved veterinary non-medicinal products.
